RCMP investigate suspicious deaths

Police look to public for information in relation to death of two men

GLENDON - Bonnyville RCMP and the RCMP Major Crimes Unit responded to a situation that involved two suspicious deaths on March 28.

Early on Saturday morning at 4 a.m., Bonnyville RCMP responded to a call from a citizen who reported two males on the road outside of a parked truck. 

While on scene at Twp Rd 622 and RR 484, Bonnyville RCMP determined both men were deceased and the circumstances of their death appeared suspicious.

"The RCMP Major Crimes Unit has responded to Bonnyville to take carriage of this investigation," reads an RCMP media release. "Both males, aged 39 and 57, suffered gunshot wounds. A truck was seized on scene and is being forensically examined."

Autopsies will be conducted on March 31 to confirm the cause of death.   

The deceased men are associated with a black 2014 Dodge Ram 1500. The Major Crimes Unit and Bonnyville RCMP are seeking assistance from the public as follows:

  • Trail cams, dash board cameras and video surveillance from 8 p.m. March 27 to 4 a.m. March 28.
  • The area RCMP are seeking this footage from is MD of Bonnyville, RR 484, RR 485, RR 490 and TWP 614, TWP 620 and TWP 622

Police are asking anyone who travelled in the above area, during the time frame of 8 p.m until 4 a.m., to contact Bonnyville RCMP at 780-343-7200.

Of particular interest is if anyone saw the described black 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 or any other suspicious vehicle or activities.
