DIDSBURY, Alta - Two people have been charged following a police pursuit that started near Airdrie and ended in Didsbury on July 6.

At about 10:30 p.m., Airdrie RCMP and Calgary Police Service officers requested assistance from Didsbury RCMP after a vehicle with a stolen licence plate fled officers near Cross Iron Mills Mall, police said in a press release issued today (July 8).

“Calgary Police HAWCS followed the suspect vehicle and were able to assist officers with the location,” said RCMP Cpl. Gina Slaney. “The suspect vehicle entered Didsbury and officers were able to utilize their tire deflation device, which quickly disabled the car.

“Two suspects fled from the vehicle on foot. Containment was set up and shortly after, two suspects were safely arrested.”

A subsequent investigation revealed the vehicle had been stolen from Calgary. As the offence initiated in Calgary, Calgary Police Service took custody of the suspects.

Terrence Southern, 40, of Clearwater County and Sarah McRae, 35, of Calgary have been charged.
