What to do in February: Edmonton and Area

February often marks the coldest month of the winter season, but that doesn’t mean you should stay home and sit in front of the fire the whole month; there are a lot of events and other activities to see and enjoy that you just can’t miss!
4-1 What to do in February Edmonton
Ice on Whyte - January 27 to February 6, 2022

Edmonton is known for its festivals, hence its nickname the “Festival City,” but even if festivals aren’t your thing there is lots to explore in Edmonton and the surrounding area. If you are looking to get out for a snowshoe or Segway exploration of the River Valley area then River Valley Adventures has what you are looking for.

If skating is more your thing then you can glide along Edmonton IceWay Skating Trail at the Victoria Park skating path, lit by solar-powered lanterns for an unforgettable colourful experience to be had with your family, friends or loved ones.

For those interested in skiing there are options available within city limits that don’t have you driving out to the mountains. Snow Valley Ski Club and Rabbit Hill Snow Resort are two locations that will have you enjoying the chill of February on the slopes for a half or full day of skiing or snowboarding.

For festivals, there are several to choose from throughout the month of February:
