As part of its commitment to amplify Black-owned businesses - Rochelle Ignacio and Sara Awatta from Feed the Soul YEG have teamed up with Cocktails and Jerk Festival for the Firelight Rooftop Fête this Labour Day long weekend. It follows the Cocktails and Jerk Festival which runs Sept. 1 to 3 at McIntyre (Gazebo) Park in Old Strathcona.

Firelight Rooftop Fete is a special evening of Afro-Caribbean sips, eats and beats Sept. 3 from 8 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. The adult-only event happens atop the Pendennis Building, 9660 Jasper Ave, with views overlooking the river valley and downtown skyline. Sample oxtail meat pies, puff puff with chocolate drizzle and signature drinks including sorrel margaritas and coco carib coolers.

Live music comes courtesy of Afrobeats, Dancehall, Amapiano, Soca, Hip Hop and RnB spun by local DJs. Learn dance moves from Regmofit too.
