Some of Edmonton's best and brightest are being honoured in Edify Magazine's annual Top 40 Under 40 list, which recognizes the contributions of 40 notable residents in areas including health, the arts and innovation.

"This remarkable class of Top 40s has amazing stories to tell,” said Edify publisher Trudy Callaghan. “Their achievements highlight that Edmonton is an exciting place in which to create, innovate and inspire others.”

Recipients were nominated by peers, and then selected by a jury of Edmontonians (including former Top 40s). This year's panel included those from the city's business community, government and even the Edmonton Police Service.

"I am delighted to see so many recipients with such a strong U of A connection," noted University of Alberta President Bill Flanagan, a sponsor of the Top 40 Under 40. "Edify’s Top 40 Under 40 highlights our incredible University of Alberta alumni and staff who are change makers, community builders and world shapers."

“I do not envy the judges,” said Edify Editor-in-Chief Steven Sandor. “We receive hundreds of excellent nominations, and to narrow the field down to 40 is not an easy task. It speaks to the quality of people doing some really amazing things.”

Honourees will be recognized at the Top 40 Under 40 celebrations on Tuesday, November 8 at the Winspear Centre. See edifyedmonton.com for details.
