The giving season is now upon us. After Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the time has come to celebrate Giving Tuesday. It may be an artificial date, like the others, but it's a perfectly good reminder that when you're spending dollars in store and online during the holiday season, why not send a few dollars to a favourite arts group, non-profit, or charitable organization. Check the websites of your favourite spots, as donations on Giving Tuesday sometimes come with matching donations etc.  Here are just a few:

THIRD ACTion Film Festival  Donations help important work in the community. Since 2017, THIRD ACTion has offered an entertaining and educational experience that redefines the narrative around aging. With its supporters, Third ACTion is able to make an age-positive culture shift by reframing the discussion on aging and older adults from one of “burden” to one of “celebration.” The group has a goal of raising $25,000 by the end of the year (December 31st). Donors can now receive a tax receipt. See

Alberta Aviation Museum

With 2022 almost coming to a close, the museum is looking towards a new year of newfound prosperity and community. With help and support, it is aiming to raise up to $8,000 by this Giving Tuesday. Whether you choose to make a donation or by supporting the museum through the purchase of a Museum Membership or Santas Anonymous Campaign Donation - every little bit counts.

The museum is a leader in the preservation, education and promotion of Alberta’s rich aviation history. The focus is to boldly share Blatchford’s aviation stories and shine a spotlight on Edmonton as a gateway to Northern Alberta and a window to the world. A contribution helps preserve, propel, and prosper the museum as a community organization. See for more.
