Do you bake pies? Make preserves? Are you a champion hot dog eater? Then the Norwood Fair is the place to be this weekend, the first-time event celebrating the history of the Norwood neighbourhood and community. 

The Inaugural Norwood Fair, hosted by Arts on the Ave, runs at 90 St and 110 Ave this Saturday, Aug 13 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The free, family-friendly event includes a free pancake breakfast and live music by Jason Kodie, Mallory Chipman, Lakota Tootoosis and more. 

Fair-goers can participate in Rat Creek bike races, food competitions, enjoy food trucks, workshops and demos and open mic at the Carrot Community Arts Coffeehouse on Alberta Ave.

Pie Baking Contest: Calling all neighbourhood bakers:

Bring us your best apple or rhubarb pie and enter to win bragging rights and a prize for 1st place. Special points for pies made with local fruit. 1st place winner in each competition will win a small kitchen appliance.

Bring out your best jams and pickles to enter to win bragging rights and a prize for 1st place. Special points for preserves made with local fruit/vegetables. 1st place winner in each competition will win a small kitchen appliance.

Hot Dog Eating Contest
