Introduction to Artisan Cheese Making class will be conducted on March 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Also on March 2 a class on Introduction to Pinterest which enables participants to get creative ideas, will be held from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Ballroom Dance: Intermediate and Advanced classes take place from March 4 to 31 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Also on the same day there will be a presentation on Retirement Income Blueprint Program from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Editing your digital photos with Picasa class will be held from March 4 to 18 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Bring your own digital camera and cables. Presentation on River Cruising in Portugal and Spain is on March 10 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m.

There will be 3 Lunch and Learn Programs during the month. While there is a charge for the lunch, the presentation or program is free. March 3: Heart Diseases Diagnostic with Dr. Rupi Sandhu; March 24: Wills and Bequests with Audrey from Witten Law Office and on March 26: My Adventures in Canada's Foreign Service by Al Lyons. Two other events scheduled for the month are, March 5: Purimspeil by Barry Greenspan and March 30: Abe Silverman on My Journey from Holocaust Survivor to Father and Grandfather at 10:45 a.m.

St. Patrick's Toonie Tea will be held on March 13 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Wednesday Dances will take place on March 4, 11, 18 and 25 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Dinner before the dance can be ordered by phoning 780-406-0840. Spring registration begins March 16 to 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and then will continue daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. NESA Spring Program Guide is available online at www.nesa1.ca or at the Centre. A Bake Sale will be held on March 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Pancake Breakfast will be served on Sunday, March 1, from 10:00 a.m. to noon. The Birthday Party is on March 6 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Also on March 6, Potluck Supper and Bingo Evening will be held with doors opening at 5:00 p.m.; everyone over 18 years welcome. Saturday Cribbage is on March 14 starting at 1:00 p.m. Contract Bridge will be played on March 21 starting at 11:30 a.m. Bookings now accepted for 2014 Tax preparations in April.

Income Tax preparation for low-income seniors will be held throughout March from Monday to Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Book early. Foot Care and Comfort presentation will be given on March 10 at 10:00 a.m. Snap Happy Photography Group meets on March 12 at 10:30. "Brainiacs" a drop-in activity group meets on March 19 at 10:00 a.m. Also on March 19, Happy Travellers Slide and Video Show takes place at 1:00 p.m. St. Patrick's Party will be held on March 17 at 1:00 p.m. St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral tour is on March 24 starting at 12:30 p.m. from the SAGE. There are beginners' sessions on Internet, Facebook, Skype or Twitter for small groups and also one-on-one sessions. Call Rachel at 780-701-9016 to register.

Crib tournament will be played on March 7 at 1:00 p.m. Partner required. AGM followed by wine and cheese will take place on March 12 at 2:00 p.m. Pie Breakfast Day is on March 14 at 9:26 a.m. Bring a pie or pay a fee. Spring Program Registration begins on March 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon. Also on March 17 there will be an Irish-themed lunch. Please wear green. Monthly Dinner and Bingo is on March 26. Monthly dance starts at 7:00 p.m. on March 27. Jam Sessions will take place on March 6 and 20 from 7:00 onwards. Please bring a musical instrument or come to listen. Tax clinics will be held on March 11, 17, 19 and 25. Book early.

Dinner/Social is held every Friday at noon. SCONA is hosting a fundraising Dinner/Dance/Silent Auction on Saturday, March 21 at Ritchie Community Hall, 7727-98 Street. Cocktails at 6:00 p.m. while dinner starts at 7:00 p.m. followed by dance and silent auction. The theme is "Mad Hatter." Everyone is encouraged to wear a crazy hat in the hopes of winning a prize. SCONA offers telephone or in-person friendship to lonely, isolated seniors. The friendship is provided by a senior, so the relationship will be with someone of their generation.

Strathcona Place Seniors Centre-(Phone: 780-433-5807)

The Centre will provide free tax preparation for 2014 forms from March 9 until April 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Contact the front desk to book an appointment. Computer tutor is available to learn how to blog, use twitter, take photos etc. on Friday mornings. (Friday March 6 is fully booked). Last appointment is at 11:00 a.m. Nominal fee. A private program has been booked for participants at Muttart Garden on March 19. Sign up before March 9 at front desk. Volunteers who have travel photos are wanted to share their experiences for the Monday Travel Talk Program.

Westend Seniors Activity Centre-(Phone: 780-483-1209)

St. Patrick's Dance with a six-piece all accordion band will be held on March 13 at 3:00 p.m. Learn the techniques of thrumming using lightweight Alpaca yarn by joining Thrumming Along with Me: Slippers on March 17 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. The Centre has launched a series of workshops to enable participants to learn tricks of various trades and thereby save dollars spent on contractors. The next workshop, "Baseboards and Casings" will take place on March 31 from 10:00 a.m. to noon. The participants will learn how to hang a door or fix a lock to light switches and outlets.
