UFEST: Western Canada’s Largest Ukrainian Festival Kicks Off in Edmonton’s Borden Park May 26 - 27, 2023
UFest Edmonton Ukrainian Festival is an annual celebration of Ukrainian culture, featuring food, music, visual arts, crafts, and dance. This free, family-friendly two-day event brings together people of Ukrainian heritage (as well as many other cultures) and is expected to attract over 60,000 people.
UFest will kick off on Friday, May 26th at 5 p.m. at Borden Park. Attendees can enjoy free performances by some of the region's best Ukrainian dancers, choirs and musicians. Food vendors will be serving traditional Ukrainian cuisine while other vendors will be selling a variety of Ukrainian merchandise, art and gifts. Additionally, guests can enjoy pavilions showcasing community and cultural displays, and try a unique series of hands-on cultural workshops. Children can participate in many free activities, including a petting zoo, train rides and face painting, and adults can enjoy a drink at the UFest Bar.
UFest runs to 11 p.m. Friday, and on Saturday, May 27th from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The festivities continue with UFest After Dark, a Zabava (dance) held under the stars. Attendees can enjoy free live music, have a beer, and polka the night away. UFest After Dark is a free event open to all ages, running from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26th, and from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 27th. For more, visit www.ufest.ca
