Delicioso meatballs!

On their own, with noodles or rice, meatballs are a sure-fire winner with the whole family.

  • 1 lb ground turkey or lean ground beef
  • 1 lb Italian style sausage 
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  •  1/2 cup grated parmesan 
  • 1 cup shredded zucchini
  • 1 egg
  • 1-1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1-1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt


1 cup of your favourite pasta sauce

 1 cup shredded mozzarella or mixed Italian cheeses

           Preheat oven to 400. 

  • Combine all the ingredients for the meatballs and mix thoroughly. Form approx. 24 golf-ball size meatballs and place in 9x13” casserole dish. 

  • Bake for 30 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked through. Carefully drain about 1/2 of the cooking liquid from the casserole dish (leaving some liquid for flavour and moisture).

  • Top with the sauce and cheese. Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted (or broil quickly to brown the cheese).
