It's Seniors' Week in Alberta; no better time to recognize and show appreciation for the contributions seniors have made to our province. Across Alberta--from Fort McMurray to Hinton, Camrose to Calgary and many spots in between--virtual or in-person events are happening to honour and celebrate seniors. However you give a special nod to the seniors in your life, do so safely. If you have family in a continuing care facility, call, visit, Zoom, send a card--remember those who've given so much to society and their own families.
We have a piece on the just-released Alberta government review of continuing care facilities, which critics say isn't going nearly far enough to address longstanding issues in housing Canada's senior population. What do you think of the report? What are the issues we must address going forward, so a COVID-19-like situation doesn't happen again, in our most vulnerable communities? Weigh in on Facebook or send your thoughts to email@example.com
If COVID-19 rates continue to fall, we're looking at Stage 2 openings across the province, as soon as later this week. That means we can partake in more outdoor gatherings, dining and outdoor sport activities. Are you comfortable forging ahead? Share your thoughts with us, on this or whatever's on your mind.
Have a great week!
