Mr. Armand Favennec passed away peacefully at the age of 89 years after a long battle with cancer and dementia. Armand was born in Gourin, Alberta on October 26, 1931; Mrs. Brody from Amber Valley was the midwife. His parents had come from Brittany, France in 1928 - 1930 to start a new life in Canada. He started school at 8 years old not knowing a word of English. He excelled in school and finished 9 grades in 7 years. Grade 9 was by correspondence and he also took a diesel mechanics course. He went on to become a successful farmer until the 90's. While farming he took many other courses to learn about electricity, electronics and welding. Many will remember him as the local T.V. repair man in the 60's and 70's. His motto was, "the day you stop learning something new is the day you stop living". He is survived by his 2 sisters Rita Ulliac, Annette Maccagno and 9 nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents Francois & Jeanne, brother in laws Albert Ulliac, Tom Maccagno, nephew Gilbert Ulliac as well as uncles aunts and cousins in France.
