Craig Wesley Thompson was born Thanksgiving morning Oct. 11, 1971 in Calgary. He passed away of an opioid overdose Dec. 8, 2021 in Vancouver, B.C.

He was a fun-loving, boisterous, lovable and mischievous child. In the late 70’s he won the Boy’s Colt Scramble at the High River Little Britches Rodeo. Skateboarding was a big part of his life in the early teens and he was good at it!!

When he left home he ended up in Vancouver. He went to school there and apprenticed to be a Journeyman plumber. He worked for a large construction company as a plumber for large high-rise commercial and or apartment buildings in downtown Vancouver for a number of years. As the years went by – he got more and more into the drug culture, becoming homeless, sleeping under trees in Stanley Park or on the Stanley Park Beach. As the years went by he changed from the Craig we knew and loved into a totally different person. The things that he did and saw over the years changed him even more.

We hope he is at peace now, and his spirit is sleeping under a tree at Stanley Park or out on the nearby beach watching the sunset.

He is survived by his mother, Helen Smith, step-father Dave Smith, brother Brad Thompson (Steph), step brother Bryan Smith (Christine),step-sister Denise Camarneiro  (Mario), Step sister-in-law Meryl Smith, 8 nieces and nephews, 1 great nephew and 1 great niece. Several aunts, uncles and cousins.

His birth Father Harold Thompson, and older step-brother Darcy Smith as well as all his grandparents pre-deceased him.

We wish to thank all our friends and relatives for their kind thoughts and deeds.

Sincerely,
Helen & Dave Smith, Brad Thompson, Bryan Smith, Denise Camarneiro, Meryl Smith and all the family.

Due to Covid there will be no funeral service.
