Marion Louise Creery, born April 9th, 1938 London, Ontario, died February 24, 2021, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.

Marion is survived by sons Tom Drynan (Tracie Owens) and Dr. Dylan Drynan (Cristina), and grandchildren Andrew Owens, Adrian, Lucas, and Siena Drynan, and by her dear sister Patricia Anne (Claude Vigeant). She also leaves behind dear nieces and nephews Katharine and Dr. David Creery, and Kenneth, Dr. Louise, and Karen Vigeant, as well as many special friends in Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, and on the Caribbean island of Montserrat W.I.

She is predeceased by her parents Theron Gibson and Louisa (nee Anderson) Creery, and by her beloved brothers Dr. Walter Creery (2018), Earl (1997), and James (1948).

Marion grew up on the family farm, Springbrook, on the Sunshine Line near Kirkton, Ontario attending Winchelsea School, and high school in Exeter, now South Huron DHS. She enjoyed her time at Exeter, being active in student government, academics, and social events. Marion graduated from the University of Western Ontario, before attending the University of Guelph for graduate work, focusing her research on education and international studies. She made many dear life-long friends as a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority at Western. Marion was an active member of St. Paul's Anglican Church, Kirkton, during her childhood and throughout her life it remained her spiritual home.

Marion's career includes periods teaching at Mohawk College in Hamilton, as director of student services at Olds College in Olds, Alberta and as the first female president of Old Sun Community College in Siksika, Alberta. From 1988 until 2008, Marion was director of student services at Ryerson University in Toronto. Her dedication to empowering women through education, business ventures, and leadership is her legacy. In 'retirement,' Marion served as a President of the St. Mary's Rotary Club, tended her beautiful flower garden on the Sunshine Line, travelled extensively, and spent her happiest hours with her grandchildren in Alberta and Chicago.

Marion moved to Olds, Alberta in 2018, and moved into the Good Samaritan Society Clearwater Centre in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta in early 2020.

Through her diligent work as an educational administrator and through her warm smile and frequent laughter, Marion had a tremendous impact on so many people she encountered over the years. She will be dearly missed.

A memorial service to celebrate Marion's life will be held in Huron County, Ontario in 2022 for all family and friends to gather safely, as Marion would wish. Details will be shared widely.
