Born in High River, Alberta; son to Colin and Stena McLeod.

Jim passed away peacefully on March 30, 2021 at the High River hospital.

Jim is predeceased by his parents Colin and Stena, his son Craig, and his siblings Stan, Shirley and Jeanette. Left to remember Jim is his loving wife of 58 years, and best friend, Jean. Alongside his sons Wade (Angela) and Glenn (Dana), his beloved grandchildren Angela, Morgan, Eric, Aly, and Kayla, as well as his brand new great grandson Nathan. Jim is also survived by his sister Marie, along with nieces, nephews, brother in-laws and sisters in-laws.

Jim grew up on the family farm and raised his own family in Okotoks. He loved spending days at the local hockey rink and baseball diamonds watching his boys play. Jim spent countless days in the mountains as he was an avid hunter and fisherman. Curling and golf were a couple of Jim’s other favourite hobbies.

Jim’s career consisted of various construction jobs, including work at Engineered Homes, and McCabe Grain (United Grain Growers). He then moved on to Brant, Alberta as a grain buyer for National Elevator. Later moving back to Okotoks to work at Firestone Plant for 13 years until the plant was shut down. After this Jim started his own businesses. First, McLeod Sand & Gravel, then Sheep River Excavating and the Okotoks Liquor Store. His sons have proudly taken over Sheep River Excavating.

J.C. McLeod will be truly missed by all of this family and friends.
