John (Jack) Martz was born in Kitchener, Ontario on December 1, 1935 to Arno & Elma Martz. He passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 85.

Jack joined the Canadian Army in 1953 and served during the Korean War. After his service, he joined the City of Calgary Police department and served from 1956 – 1962, where he was one of the Elite Traffic Motorcycle officers. Jack then went into sales in 1962 and continued to do that until his retirement in 2005. Upon his retirement, he both resided and golfed in Vulcan, Alberta. Jack married Shirley Gadd in 1956 and they had two childre

John will be missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Shirley; son, Warren (Alison Campbell); daughter, Karen (Ted Matlo); grandchildren, Ryan Martz (Brittany), Candice Matlo Light (Kody Light) and Gregory Matlo; great grandchildren, Chloe, Carter, Drake and Brecken; as well as many other extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Arno & Elma; stepfather, Earl; brother, Ronald and grandson, Chris Martz.
