September 15, 1932-September 1, 2023
After a long, blessed life Anne-Lise passed away at St. Albert Sturgeon General Hospital. She will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters Anne-Marie (Bill), Anne-Grete (Andrew). Her six grandchildren Sean (Cindy), Alexandra (Jason), Chad (Klaudia), Kelsie (Ryan), Rosanne (Justin), Dillon (Leah), seven great grandchildren Amelia, Eliana, Avaleigh, Hadley, Tenleigh, Addison and Granger plus extended family and friends.
Anne-Lise and her husband Henning immigrated to Canada from Denmark in June 1955. They started a new life and raised a family in St. Albert, Anne-Lise as a home maker and a very skilled seamstress. Henning built her a sewing room in the home with special cutting table and sewing machines. There she sewed for clients who wanted special garments. She made many wedding gowns and bridesmaids dresses including both her daughters’ gowns. Anne-Lise was an amazing cook for her family and guests. She was also a great knitter made countless gloves and mitts for the St. Albert Senior Center gift shop. Anne-Lise also enjoyed physical activity and would attend exercises classes at the senior center.
The Danish Lutheran church was also a big part of her life. In younger days she was the president of the ladies group putting on bazaars and special dinners for fundraising. She loved her family more than anything and told them every chance she could how much she loved them.
The family would like to extend a thank you to Dr. Chowdry and medical staff for helping us navigate her last days in palliative care. We would also like to thank Senior Homecare by Angels who helped with appointments and other outings in our absence and providing companionship.
A celebration of Anne-Lise life will be announced at a later date. Cremation has taken place at Trinity funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests to make a donation to the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute.
