1934 - 2021
Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Sister-in-Law, Aunt and Friend, May Gertrude Mardon (nee Knowler), passed away with her family by her side on July 21, 2021, at the age of 87 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Austin Albert Mardon (Catherine Curry), Mary Teresa Mardon (Eric Dufresne) and Teresa May Mardon (Shawn Buckley); grandchildren, Quinn, Zack, Taylon, Garth, James, George, Genevieve and Henri; great-granddaughter Jocelyn; sister, Teresa (nee Knowler) Feehan; brother-in-law, Richard (“Dick”) Mardon; sister-in-law, Ethnea (nee Baum) Mardon; as well as by her many nephews and nieces and grand-nephews and nieces around the world.
She will also be dearly missed by her long-standing friends from Lethbridge, where she and her husband lived for 52 years, as well as by her newly found friends among the residents and staff at the Citadel Care Centre of St. Albert.
She was predeceased by her dearly loving husband of 58 years, Dr. Ernest George Mardon (Professor of English Literature, University of Lethbridge), her brothers Albert (“Bert”) and Lloyd Knowler and her sister Mary (nee Knowler) Blaquiere Hallinan, as well as her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Austin, Marie, Lucy, Harry, Annette, Roland and Francis Mardon.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church, 75 Poirier Avenue, St. Albert, AB on Monday, August 02, 2021, at 11:00 a.m.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for the repose of May’s soul at Eglise Saint-Francois Xavier, Quebec City, at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made in May’s name to her favorite Edmonton Charity, The Hope Mission.
