Peacefully and surrounded by his family, Richard “Mugga” Alfred Pahl, 80, passed away Sunday, Jan.22,2023.

Richard was born the oldest of two children to Otto and Emma Pahl in Hanna, Alberta on May 20, 1942. Richard wore a number of hats throughout his life. Construction, Postman, Singer & Custodian to name a few, but his biggest interest, and most important influence on others was his time as a minister. His calm and patient manner allowed room for others who needed his wisdom and caring.

Richard attended Hillcrest Christian College for 3 years. And shortly thereafter, married Lorraine Viste on Aug 26, 1966 and began his career as a minister, sharing his faith with the congregations of Macoun SK (67-72), Lipton SK (72-77), Richmond BC (77-82) and finally Didsbury AB (82-98). Throughout his years as a Pastor, Richard also contributed his many talents to ensure the Bible camps ran smoothly.

Richard’s passions included singing and travelling with the Shepherds Voices (men’s chorus) & with the men’s quartet of George, Harold & Wallace.  Football & hockey were just a few of the events he loved to watch and attend with his boys as well as camping, golfing and time with family – especially with the grandkids. Richard also had the rare ability to create works of art with wood, spending hours lovingly crafting a cradle and wagon for his grandkids.

Richard is survived by his wife Lorraine, his children Garth (Maria) Pahl, Brian (Lori) Pahl & Tanya (Bill) Fedora. Grandkids Nadine, Austin, Kaleb, Jonah, Logan, Ricky, Kayla & Brody. Brother Dave (Aggie) Pahl
