Mrs. Elizabeth ‘Beth’ Vokes, of Red Deer, Alberta passed away at home, surrounded by family, holding her love, Earle Vokes’ hand, as her Lord and Savior gathered her into his arms to take her to her new home on Monday, May 30, 2022 at the age of 93 years.

Beth was born on June 3, 1928 in Aldina Saskatchewan. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Clara Toth. Beth was the sixth of ten children, Andrew, Ann, Joseph, Eileen, Michael, Margret, Irene, James and Lillian, who have all gone before her.  Beth’s family moved from Saskatchewan to Delhi, Ontario in 1939.  Beth looked after her siblings from the age of nine until she left to work for Windrum Industries making jeans.

Beth and Earle married in Guelph, Ontario on October 12, 1957.  They moved to Nanticoke after getting married.  Beth and Earle moved from Nanticoke, Ontario to Eckville, Alberta in 1969, and then to Innisfail, Alberta, and other towns until settling in Red Deer, Alberta.  Beth and Earle had many adventures and experiences in different parts of Alberta.  Beth worked as a housekeeper in different motels and rental homes. She cooked in a restaurant and pumped gas, was a caretaker at two Municipal Parks, and she worked very hard throughout her years.

Beth loved to pan for gold; and loved praying for all, reading her Bible, books and enjoyed her garden and flowers, as well as her travel adventures. Beth’s favorite Bible reading was the Book of Job.  Beth was a true Christian; she practiced what she believed.  She believed in forgiveness to all.  Beth loved the Lord.  She was a selfless, kind soul who tried to make all who met her, happy.  Thank you to the many people, friends, neighbors, doctors, nurses, and caregivers who helped take care of mom over the years.  She appreciated you immensely.

Beth was a devoted wife to Earle, and together, they had nine children, Esther (Bob), Emily (Doug), Eleanor (Terry), Ernie (Cindy), Everett, Evan (Lorinda), Emerson, Earle Jr. ‘Charlie’ (Trish) and Erick (Deina), all of whom reside in Alberta.  Beth was the proud grandmother to Terry (Alicia and Ava), Jenny (Andrew), Leila (Keir), Ashley (Scott), Adam, Nick (Morgan), Matt, Blake, Alex, Brittnee, Dirk, Riley and Arica. Beth was fortunate to have one great granddaughter, Lily. Beth also has numerous nieces and nephews; she adored every one of you.
