1939 - Jan 8, 2022

The Weimer family is sad to announce the passing of our beloved sister and auntie, Marilyn Joan Weimer.

Marilyn was the first of 4 children born to Fred and Molly Weimer; siblings Lorraine, Allan and Stan completed the family. Marilyn lived in the Wimborne area, on the family farm, from the time she was born until she moved to Olds, with her parents, in 1981.

In 2018, Marilyn sold her house and moved into Mountain View Seniors Lodge; here she enjoyed visiting, partaking in the activities, and making new friends. Marilyn loved to socialize. When family or friends dropped in coffee or tea was always offered, and a game of cards or a board game would often follow. Marilyn and her mom had a special bond; whether it was crafting, darning, cooking, cleaning, or babysitting the nieces and nephews, they worked together supporting each other. Marilyn enjoyed cleaning, she took great pride in their home and the house was always meticulous. She loved her garden and her flower beds; their yard had beautiful flowers and she was very proud of receiving a Communities in Bloom award.

Auntie Marilyn was pretty proud of her nieces and nephews, but we would say we were the lucky ones.  The fact that Auntie Marilyn was always with Grandma and Grandpa, she was more like a bonus Grandma.  She always made us feel special and loved.  She had a caregiver's heart and we have all been blessed by our time with her.

Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Molly and her sister, Lorraine Flinn.

Marilyn will be lovingly missed by her family; brothers, Allan (Dorothy) Weimer, Stan (Laurette) Weimer; brother-in-law, Stewart (Marg) Flinn; as well as nieces and nephews Randy (Deborah) Flinn, Veronica (Lance) Pana, Dawnaca (Stan) Martin, Alisa (Arron) Kolenosky, April (Michel) Legere and Owen (Amanda) Weimer and their families.
