Caroline Werkman was born October 10, 1949, the 3rd daughter of Simon and Bertha Tuininga. She grew up in Neerlandia on the family farm. In 1969, Carol got engaged to Peter Werkman and got married on June 19, 1970. This marriage was blessed with seven children; Jason, Shawn, Melanie, Wesley, Krista, Russell and Darcy. Carol had 27 grandchildren. She loved the farm life and rearing her children and enjoyed the perks of gardening for her cooking and always loved harvest time where she did most of the combining. Carol was active in both the school and church communities where she enjoyed doing the bookkeeping for the church for many years. Carol and Peter left the farm and started an auction business which led them to many parts of Alberta on adventures together. Carol faced many health struggles throughout her life but rarely if ever complained about her health challenges. Carol was steadfast in her faith and looking forward to meeting her Saviour. 

Mom leaves to mourn her loving family; son, Jason and Alanna Werkman and their children, Ainsleigh and David Brtka, Mackenzie and Jos Bikker - Fraser, Mercedes, Brock, Teegan, Lincoln; son, Shawn Werkman; daughter, Melanie and Errol Hooimeyer and their children, Jackson and Kayley Hooimeyer, Zachary, Maddison, Karter, Danika; son Wesley and Gloria Werkman and their children, Hailey, Sierra, Saige; daughter, Krista and Richard Kobes and their children, Parker, Deakan, Presley, Kingston, Oakley; son, Russell and Stephanie Werkman and their children, Avery, Cadence, Alexis, Damian; son,  Darcy and Pamela Werkman and their children, Braxton, Dominique, Kaiyen, Naveya. Carol’s siblings; Sheila and Louis Ypma, Joanne and Harry Boessenkool, Bruce and Davida Tuininga and Bernice Peters, plus many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Carol was predeceased by her beloved husband, Peter, her parents and her grandson, Kingston Kobes.
