Summer in Snow Valley

The snow is gone and the ski lift has hit pause for the season, but that doesn’t mean the action is over at Snow Valley. The “Choose Your Adventure” theme is alive and well with a full roster of exciting things to experience this summer.

Tim Dea, Marketing & Communications Manager, explains, “Last year’s patio is back and we will have a food outlet on the hill for snacks and beverages. In even more exciting news, we are building geodome glamping units in a quiet area of the campground, and we are beefing up target golf!”

Let’s start with those patios. Snow Valley’s patio opened during COVID to provide a safe and relaxing way for guests to enjoy refreshments between site activities. In the past the patio was sponsored by a local food and beverage supplier but this year it will be operated by Snow Valley. The patio will also be the site of live entertainment. Snow Valley is working with the Edmonton Public Library to help showcase local musicians, authors and poets. Snow Valley will also be the host of the Edmonton International Jazz Festival on July 2 and 3 on the hill. Tickets through the festival website.

In addition to the first full scale renovations to the campground bathrooms since the 1950s, Rainbow Valley campground is excited to welcome three glamping geodomes that will open in August. These special retreats allow those that don’t want to rough in a tent to still experience the great outdoors (in luxury and comfort). The geodomes offer a nearly full 360 view of the surrounding area, are powered, include a soft raised bed and come with all the amenities you could wish for in the ultimate glamping experience.

Target golf returns with a new, lower price for the golf bucket and free irons. We won’t give away all the things to look forward to, but the golf course has some interactive and computerized new targets in the works. The sluice returns too for kids (of all ages but aimed at the younger ones) to discover gems, emeralds and fossils. Each little miner gets a keepsake card telling them where their treasures came from. The slice is a great way to combine education and fun.

Aerial Park opens early June for all the high wire fun you’ve waiting for. In accordance with current guidelines, masks are no longer required (subject to change) and tickets can be purchased on site or online. Even if you have enjoyed Aerial Park in the past, each time on the tower is a challenge. Go just for fun or take a new route and push yourself to achieve new heights.

Dea has one final bit of great news regarding Snow Valley’s summer season.

“Weddings are back!” he smiles. Our wedding venue is booking up fast for this year and 2023. If you are interested in hosting a wedding or event here, please contact us right away. We still have some weekdays open for booking corporate or private functions, and we offer full catering for up to 200 seated guests.”

Don’t let the “snow” in Snow Valley fool you. This is the one of the hottest destinations in the city every summer. From relaxing on the patio to scoring in target golf; enjoying the great outdoors in a tent, RV or geodome or testing your resolve in Aerial Park, Snow Valley is fun for the whole family all year round.
