Welcome to Winter returns this year and runs on December 2, 3 and 4. Servus Credit Union returns as the title sponsor of this event and remains the ongoing sponsor of Servus Food Bank Friday. Details continue to evolve as this event is in the planning stages, but based on what guests experienced last year, there is plenty to look forward to!
At the last Welcome to Winter, snow games were cool but the samples from a local brewery kept those of drinking age warm. Non-alcoholic beverages and other treats were also available. A snowboard demo day allowed newcomers to the sport to give it a try. There were opportunities to donate to local charities and #YEGWinterPatio kicked off.

Snow Valley has something special for groups looking for a truly enchanting event. Perfect for a unique wedding reception, a staff celebration or a family reunion, Enchanted Valley is a three hour experience that accommodates up to 100 people. The fee includes a choice of a warm snack (hot dog, nachos or smores) that guests roast over an open fire. Guests also receive hot chocolate and seating blankets. Optional add-ons (at various fees) include a raclette dining experience (maximum 48 people), a hot chocolate bar, a crokicurl game or a guided snowshoe adventure. The Enchanted Valley is hosted in the campground space; the loop is 400 meters and the snow carvings can be viewed along the path, trees are festively lit.
Of course, Snow Valley is most well known for being the ski hill you don’t have to leave the city to enjoy. Group and private lessons are available to ensure everyone can enjoy the hill with confidence. No equipment? No problem! Snow Valley rents what you need for skiing or snowboarding. Have your own equipment? Snow Rider, on site, can repair and tune it for you. Individual lift tickets or season passes ensure you can enjoy as many, or as few, trips to the hill as you wish this winter.
