High River is the next town to be featured on CBC comedy 'Still Standing.'

High River will have its 30 minutes of fame tomorrow on CBC.

The town will be featured in the next episode of Still Standing, airing on CBC and CBC Gem at 8:30 p.m. local time on Nov. 7.

In the show, comedian Jonny Harris travels across the country to visit small towns that are on the ropes or coming back from hard times.

Information on the CBC website suggests that the High River episode will deal with recovery in the aftermath of the 2013 flood.

It says that following the worst flooding ever to hit the province, locals in High River leaned on each other to recover, overcoming the disaster through “hugs, balloons, pies, dance and the country-western traditions the town is known for.”

In each episode, Harris gets to know the characters and stories of a town before toasting the community through an original comedy routine.

The High River episode of Still Standing is Episode 7 in Season 9 of the series.

In December 2020, the show featured Turner Valley, now part of Diamond Valley, for Episode 9, Season 6.
