Police look for driver of truck that struck teen in Northern Alberta

The suspect vehicle has been recovered, but Cold Lake RCMP are looking for the driver after a 15-year-old girl was left unconscious.

COLD LAKE, Alta. – Police are looking for the driver of a white 2022 Ford F150 Platinum edition truck who fled the scene of an accident after allegedly hitting a teenager in Cold Lake early in the morning of Oct. 31. 

At 4:57 a.m. on Monday, Cold Lake RCMP assisted EMS to a call that involved a 15-year-old girl lying on the road. The teen had been hit by a vehicle at the junction of Highway 28 and 43 Avenue, near McDonald's. 

“The victim lost consciousness and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries,” according to an RCMP media release. 

An investigation by Cold Lake RCMP identified a white 2022 Ford F150 Platinum edition truck as being the vehicle that hit the pedestrian and left the scene.  

The suspect vehicle was found abandoned near the location where the accident took place and was recovered by police. 

The truck has the Alberta licence plate number CKH 0443.
