RCMP investigating human remains found in Bow Valley Provincial Park

Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit is investigating after human remains were found inside a vehicle at a trail head in Bow Valley Provincial Park Friday (Nov. 3).

KANANASKIS COUNTRY - Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit is investigating after human remains were found inside a vehicle at a trail head in Bow Valley Provincial Park Friday (Nov. 3).

According to an RCMP media release, Cochrane police officers were called to respond to a report of a "suspicious vehicle" at the Widowmaker Trail Head Friday.

"Upon arrival, officers discovered human remains inside the vehicle," said RCMP media relations officer Cpl. Gina Slaney.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday (Nov. 6) at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Calgary.

RCMP is requesting anyone with dash cam video "which may show smoke from the area around Widowmaker Trail Head" around Highway 1 and Highway 40.
