LETTER: Borowiecki is mistaken about what's happening in Ottawa

Re: "Freedom Convoy abuses its platform to create chaos," Opinion, The Gazette, Feb. 9.

I believe Anna Borowiecki is a decent person. and she isn't the only resident in St. Albert with Polish relatives who made that horrific trek from Russia to Palestine.

However, she's greatly mistaken about what is happening in Ottawa. The protest there is probably the largest violence-free gathering that ever took place in the city. It's noisy, yes, but the crime rate is down, the streets are clean, and all ethnic groups are having a love-in. So, with thousands crowding the streets to celebrate, what make Ms. Borowiecki think any bad eggs or people who defecated on the street must be truckers?

The ones who gathered at the tomb of the unknown soldier were carrying Quebec flags, but the CBC would never suggest they were separatists. And when idiots with Nazi emblems or confederate flags parade in front of the camera or behind our Member of Parliament during a CBC interview, why don't the journalists stop them and ask who they are? When Rebel News or the truckers approach them, they run away. Their faces were completely covered. They certainly look like agents provocateurs.

Ms. Borowiecki could try being less naive and trusting of the lame-stream media and The Gazette should ask her for the facts before it publishes these opinion pieces. She inadvertently insults good people when she parrots the CBC or CTV.
