LETTER: City could do a better job of clearing walking paths after snow dumps

'Countless people use the trails on a daily basis, no matter the weather.'

I understand the snow load this year, but I do not understand why our walking paths are so under maintained all winter. You would think with the sheer length of winter a better effort to maintain healthy walking trails would be a priority for people's safety and health.

Countless people use the trails on a daily basis, no matter the weather. We would get a large snow dump, and for days no plow. What’s with that? Now a week of thick slush that could be cleared and no plow?

I’m hoping city council surely puts some effort into this, and the City could maybe hire fewer of the six weed whackers I watch do a sub-par job and hire a few more plow operators to do a better job of maintaining vital walking paths all winter long, especially a timely effort after large snow dumps and clear them after they turn to slush in the spring.
