Re: "Trudeau sets dangerous precedent by using Emergencies Act: Cooper," The Gazette, Feb. 23.

Thank you to The Gazette and writer Jessica Nelson for the factual information regarding our federal MP Michael Cooper and his typical Conservative about-face on the present and earlier Conservative stances on protest blockades.

Cooper is afloat in a rudderless Conservative party filled with members who have no original ideas and their political aim is to criticize any and all parliamentary endeavors. There is a difference between holding the government to account and just being wrong-headed. Does Mr. Cooper’s willingness to follow the company line demonstrate his ability to provide quality representation to our constituency? He should be certain of his facts before he fabricates and spouts.

It is refreshing to have a newspaper and reporter who exercise the freedom to factually report news events. It is an example of our Canadian democratic freedoms to report news without a political slant.
