Two women are facing charges after police found them with knives, a baton, ammunition and bear spray.

St. Albert RCMP were at one of St. Albert's Shoppers Drug Marts Thursday following up with another investigation. While the police were there, they came across two women believed to have stolen goods from two other Shoppers Drug Marts in St. Albert. One of the women appeared to have a knife.

RCMP arrested both women without incident and say they found one woman in possession of two knives, a baton and several rounds of ammunition while the second women allegedly had bear spray and unopened makeup.

Whisper Beauregard, 29, from Wabasca, and Alexandria Derocher-Luedtke, 29, from Wetaskiwin, were charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, theft under $5,000 and failing to comply with a release order.

Both were remanded into custody following judicial hearings, and are due to appear in St. Albert Provincial Court on Feb. 16.

Anyone who has information on any crime is asked to contact the St. Albert RCMP Detachment at 780-458-7700 or their local police.  If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com or by using the "P3 Tips" app available through the Apple App or Google Play Store.
