Three fire trucks and 18 crew members responded to a fire inside a concrete manufacturing facility in St. Albert's Riel Business Park this afternoon, but the fire chief says nobody was injured.

“At approximately 1:30 this afternoon, City of St. Albert Fire Services responded to a report of a structure fire in a building located on 19 Riel Drive,” fire chief Everett Cooke said in an email.

The facility is owned and operated by Westcon Precast.

“On arrival, crews located a fire inside the structure and quickly worked to extinguish it,” Cooke said, adding that the fire had spread to the roof of the building.

“Crews remain on scene checking for hotspots and ensuring that the fire has not moved to other locations undetected.”

Cooke said investigators are still working to determine what caused the blaze.
