NDP leader Rachel Notley and St. Albert MLA Marie Renaud are hosting a town hall event in St. Albert next week to discuss the possibility of Alberta creating its own pension plan.

The town hall, scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 30 at 11:00 a.m., will take place at the St. Albert Seniors' Centre on Taché Street.

”Currently, the UCP are in the midst of a $7.5-million advertising campaign built entirely on make-believe numbers and assumptions to convince you that it’s to their benefit to leave the Canada Pension Plan, one of the best investment funds in the world,” the party's event website reads.

“Your pension is yours. We're eager to hear directly from you, no matter where you stand.”

The party is also hosting in-person town halls in Ardrossan, Red Deer, Calgary, and Edmonton.
