One new COVID-19 case diagnosed in St. Albert Wednesday

Seven more people are listed as recovered.

Just one new COVID-19 case was diagnosed in St. Albert in the past 24 hours. 

On Wednesday, the province released new data showing the total amount of COVID-19 cases diagnosed in St. Albert since the pandemic began grew from 1,941 to 1,942. Seven more people are listed as recovered, for a total of 1,814 recoveries to date.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in St. Albert continues to drop, sitting at 93 on Wednesday, six cases lower than Tuesday.

Currently, the city has 133.6 cases per 100,000 people, which is lower than Edmonton's 164.9 cases per 100,000 and Beaumont's 229.9 cases per 100,000, but higher than other capital region municipalities like Fort Saskatchewan (73.9 per 100,000), Strathcona County (91.7 per 100,000), Spruce Grove (53 per 100,000), Stony Plain (114 per 100,000) and Leduc (122.1 per 100,000).

In Sturgeon County, there are currently 29 active cases, up from 28 yesterday. The county added two more cases overnight, bringing the total cases since the pandemic began to 580. One more person recovered. The county has 103.8 COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people.

Morinville has 27 active cases, down from 30 yesterday. The town added no new cases in the past 24 hours and three more people recovered. The town has 236.5 cases per 100,000 people.
