Alberta Premier Jason Kenney will speak to the press this afternoon at 4 p.m. to provide an update on COVID-19 in Alberta and the province’s pandemic response.

Kenney will be joined Thursday afternoon by Tyler Shandro, Minister of Health; Doug Schweitzer, Minister of Jobs, Economy and Innovation; and Dr. Deena Hinshaw, chief medical officer of health.

The appearance comes one day after Hinshaw said the province would need further restrictions to combat the spread of COVID-19 in Alberta and the previous restrictions, announced two weeks ago, were not working well enough to bend the curve.

The media availability will be live-streamed to alberta.ca/news and Premier Kenney’s Facebook page.
