Twenty-two new COVID-19 cases recorded in St. Albert on Wednesday

St. Albert has added another 22 cases of COVID-19 overnight, with 19 more residents recovering, bringing the city's active case count up by three to 233.

In Sturgeon County, active cases dropped from 97 on Tuesday to 89 on Wednesday. Morinville currently has 37 active cases, a drop of one active case overnight.

Across Alberta, another 1,839 new cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed, bringing the total active cases to 20,938.

Some 18,976 tests were run for a positivity rate of 9.7 per cent.

There are currently 643 people in the hospital with 145 of them in intensive care.

The deaths of another six Albertans were reported on Wednesday, bringing the total deaths since the pandemic began to 2,073.
