1933-2020
On March 22, 2020, Ella Drobot passed away suddenly of natural causes. At a later Celebration of Life, her ashes will be spread over her beautiful Stoney Lake hills beside those of Mike Drobot Jr., her loving husband of 36 years.
Ella is survived by one daughter, Karen Hovelkamp (Kenneth Cummins) of Edmonton and grandchildren, Nathan Sorochan (Trina Koscielnuk) and Nicole Sorochan (Michael Tension) all of Victoria, Vancouver Island, and one son, Kevin Hovelkamp (Yolande) of St. Paul and grandson, Sean Hovelkamp of Edmonton.
“Grandma used to say ‘Sean, a little bird told me …’ so if I ever need some advice or a chat, I'm sure she'll send it to me by way of a little bird.” “Whether through a tale of epic adventure or a joke with an unexpected punch-line, grandma lived and inspired me (Nicole) and others through the art of storytelling.” Nathan said, " Grandma's love and support always made us feel proud of who we are, where we came from, and where we are going."
As we grieve her loss, remember her in a way that honors her spirit - picking and sharing some wild berries and helping someone in need. Ella brought a smile and sparkle into the lives of all who knew her and we will miss her forever.
