June 29, 1931 – May 27, 2022

90 years old

He was a strict follower of snack time

a lover of wagon wheels and long john donuts

his coffee always sweet and weak

Arms strong from shovelling cow patties

thumbs so green he could grow anything

Wore overalls and a trucker hat

even to weddings

A berry picker and hunter

local legend says he was a draft dodger

Always tinkering on his old John Deere

and checking the weather

since he retired from driving log trucks

and telling dirty jokes

Born in Millboro, South Dakota

he was the last remaining of six children

and lived in Sundre, Olds, Canmore, Cochrane and back again

Survived by his wife Marie of 65 years

children Elaine Baker, Margaret Hutchison, and Robert Sheets

grandchildren Tyler Baker, Janelle Baker (Hus), and Kendall Sheets

great-grandchildren Huckleberry Hus and Arlo Hus

Joining his great-grandchild Chloe Rustage-Baker

on the other side, where he can share part of his banana or half a slice of bread with her

because he could never eat a whole one.
