1928 - 2023

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Dorothy Mildred Wilson (Watson) on March 18th.  Last of her generation, she joins her husband Bob, son John and many beloved friends and family.

Born May 1, 1928 in Silton, Sask., she grew up with a love of nature, reading, and writing.  She would often talk of “her” ravine, with its “golden birds, wild violets and sweet strawberries”.

Employed as a telephone operator, sales clerk, model, and elevator operator, she joined the Royal Canadian Airforce where she soon met Bob, married and started a family.

Moving many times, a habit formed from the military, Dorothy and Bob R.V.’d after retirement, travelling Canada, the U.S. and Mexico for more than 20 years. As a writer, Dorothy had a column in the RV Times, and many articles and poems published.  As an artist she excelled at watercolours and loved combining her poetry and art into “keepsake” birthday cards.

Ending up in Olds in 2008, at the age of 78, she continued to paint, garden and enjoy nature and friendships.

Survived by daughters Sharon, Jennifer and Kimberly, grandsons Peter (Laura) and Brian and great granddaughters Ella, Lucia and Eva, she will be lovingly missed.
