Margaret Collisson, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed

away peacefully in Calgary, Alberta on March 31, 2023, at the age of 94.

She will be missed and remembered forever by her four sons: Todd, Daniel (Kim), Scott

(Beverly), Brent (Sandra); grandchildren: Erin, Julian, Arania, Amy, Paul, William,

Bradley, Marilyn, Luis; and great grandson Max.

She was predeceased by her husband Bruce Collisson and brother William Todd.

Margaret Louise Todd was born May 18, 1928 to William & Louise (Hickmott) in

Islington, Ontario. As a young adult, she worked in the office of Fairmont Railway

Motor Company and taught Sunday School. She met her husband Bruce Collisson

in 1948 and they married in 1950, settling in a small suburb surrounded by

farmland in Cooksville, Ontario where they raised their family. Ready for a new

adventure, in 1977 Bruce and Margaret moved to St. Albert, Alberta where

Margaret was, once again, an active member of the community including

volunteering with the Kiwanis music festival and leading youth drama classes.

Margaret was a talented artist who enjoyed music and theatre, reveled in suspense

movies, and whose poetry was coveted by her family. Dedicated to her faith,

Margaret was a committed member of the congregations of Dixie Presbyterian

Church in Ontario and Braeside Presbyterian Church in Alberta.

Margaret and Bruce fully embraced their retirement years traveling to England, California, and Alaska, and exploring all corners of the province in Alberta.  Margaret’s purest joy was time spent with her sons, their partners, and her grandchildren. Margaret was a devoted mother and grandmother, supporting her family’s many endeavors while offering encouragement, wisdom, and unconditional love with grace and humour. Margaret’s sense of fun shines on in our hearts.

Cremation has taken place and a funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in Braeside Presbyterian Church, 6 Bernard Drive, St. Albert, AB.

If friends so desire, donations may be made in Margaret’s memory directly to

World Vision Canada.

The family thanks Dr. Glenda MacLean, Dr. Tyler Hunter, and all the staff for their

compassionate care while Margaret lived at Millrise Seniors Village.
