February 25, 1943 – March 31, 2023

It is with great sadness that the family of Jack Jeffery announce his passing at the age of 80 years on Friday, March 31, 2023.

Jack will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Corinne; children, Ruben (Heather), and Sara; grandchild, Aidan who shares his Pops Jack’s birth date; siblings, Millie Poschenrieder, Audrey Blais, Jennie Pearson; nieces, nephews, and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Rose and William Jeffery; brother Bill, and sister Joy Paterson; along with other close family members.

Jack was born on February 25, 1943 of Metis origin on the Jeffery family farm northwest of Oakville, Manitoba.  After graduation from the Oakville District School, he worked for two years in Northern Manitoba before enrolling at United College in Winnipeg. Upon the completion of his Bachelor of Arts degree, Jack began articling with Clarkson Gordon, and earned his Chartered Accountant Designation in 1970. Following a career as a corporate accountant, he became a financial consultant with several First Nations throughout Alberta before retirement.

Jack and Corinne met in Brandon and were married on August 31, 1968 in Virden. After many years in Winnipeg, they and their two children moved to St. Albert, where they are now long-time residents. Jack had many interests including reading, politics, hunting, and tennis. He was an avid member of the St. Albert Tennis Club, serving a term as its President, and could be found on the outdoor courts most weekends. Above all, Jack was a family man and was active in his children’s and grandchild’s many sports and activities. For years, he accompanied Ruben to his hockey practices and games, and when Aidan took up the sport, Jack seldom missed any of his games, most notably this past season. In retirement, Jack and Corinne travelled extensively spending long enjoyable weeks in their cherished Montana Mountaineer RV.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Jack’s life will be held at Memories Funeral Home, 13403 St. Albert Trail Edmonton, AB on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 1:30 pm.

Memorial donations in Jack’s name may be made directly to The Kidney Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.
