1944 – 2024
With great sadness and gentle relief, the family of Elaine McCracken of St. Albert, AB announces her passing on February 28, 2024 at the age of 80 years following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Elaine is survived by her children Kristen (Hitesh) Kawa and Bradley (Deryn) Edgett; her six grandchildren: Kiran, Deven, Jaya, Hannah, Cheyne and Grae; her husband Bernie McCracken; Bernie’s family as well as numerous other relatives and many dear friends.
Elaine was predeceased by her husband Colin Edgett and her brother Peter Saunders.
Elaine was a kind, compassionate lady who adored her family. She was a teacher by trade and worked for years in Early Childhood Development, first as a preschool teacher and progressed to the Director of St. Albert Daycare. Along this path, life long bonds with cherished friends were forged. After moving to Vergreville, AB, Elaine opened a daycare in the hospital and later taught at Lakeland College.
Elaine will be sadly missed by her family and friends. All of whom are welcome to attend a Celebration of Elaine’s Life hosted by Kristen and Brad on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. The Celebration will take place at Kristen’s home located at #50, 53522 RR 274, Spruce Grove, AB.
