Rachel Goulet

October 27, 1921 - May 15, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rachel Goulet (nee Primeau) at the age of 98 years.

Rachel was born in Montreal and lived most of her life in Quebec, Ohio and Florida, before coming to Banff in 2000 to live closer to her three sons and their families.

Rachel integrated well into her new life in Banff; volunteering with the Banff Seniors Society, at the Community Lunch Program, at St. Martha's, with the Ladies Hospital Auxiliary, generously donating her beautiful handmade baby sweaters to fundraising causes, and making wonderful new friends. She was honoured locally (SHINE award recipient) and provincially (Minister's Senior Service Award) for her outstanding volunteer efforts. Rachel will be missed by so many of all ages.

Rachel was predeceased by her husband Roy in 1998, and is survived by her sons Roy (Rebecca), Gerry (Anne) and Mike (Patrice), grandchildren Jennifer (Manousos), Kelly (Mark), Dominique (Remi), Marty (Lindsey), Danielle, Andrew, Jasmine (Mac) and Stephane, as well as her much loved great grandchildren, Emily, Olivia, Sophie, Sage, Olive, Hazel, Jasper, Isidor and Vivian. Rachel is also survived by her sister Josette and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family thanks the caring staff at Cascade House and the Banff Health Unit for their loving support over the last years.

A private family service will take place at a later date.
