Council cuts funding to annual youth arts festival 

EDMONTON — Alberta's top doctor announced a record-breaking range of 800 new COVID-19 cases in the province Thursday and said new public health restrictions may be on the way.

If approved as written, homeowners would pay about $40 more in taxes. Council could also choose to reduce service levels and keep taxes at 2020 amounts.

Effective Nov. 2, the province is removing runny nose and sore throat from the list of core symptoms requiring mandatory isolation for those under the age of 18. This change is only for those with no known exposure to a positive case of COVID-19.
